KISS Farewell Tour Reviews

From: Sam B.
I saw the boys in Minneapolis back in May (the infamous "postponed" show), but the show they put on at the Fargodome was TWICE as good as the May performance at the Target Center. For one thing, there were basically no technical glitches at all during the Fargo show (there were a few at the Minneapolis show in May). The only mistake I noticed was Ace missed his cue during his solo and his guitar didn't "fly" to the roof, but I don't know if it was his fault; maybe the wire wasn't in place? Anyway, he disappeared offstage and there was about a 10 second awkward bit of silence while the stage was black, but then he came back out, and said something like "I needed a new guitar!" Then went into the theme from 2001.

Paul said a lot of cool things to the Fargo audience "You people are like one big family, you stick through the good times and the bad times, and I know you've had a few bad times recently" (in reference to the flooding in Fargo in June... including the Fargodome!). "But tonight, we're going to give you a good time. You deserve it!"

Gene was awesome, Paul was terrific, Ace's solo's were note perfect... actually Ace seemed to have a lot more energy this time around; he even hopped up and down a bit during his solo in "Duece". Peter was stiking the drums a little harder too, than when I saw him in May. He was a little late getting behind the drums for RARAN after the bows... Paul was ready to start, looked at the empty drumkit and said, "I think we need our drummer!" and Gene started chanting "Peter Criss! Peter Criss!" with the crowd joining in. When Pete arrived, just a few seconds later, he was met with a roar of approval. A funny moment I'll never forget. Overall, a fantastic show.

Uncle Ted was Uncle Ted, claiming he was "proud as hell to be with all you hard-working, hard-partying, shitkickers for North Dakota."
