KISS Farewell Tour Reviews

From: Seamus O'Reilly
Outside of the Phoenix show this was the show I was most looking forward to but knowing my luck it was postponed a few months so I had to fly up from San Francisco. But I'm used to flying to KISS shows so it's no bother. This was my 11th show on the tour and was important because it pushed my show total to a number greater than my age. 23rd show, 22 years old.

Anyhow, I am not a fan of The Gorge as it takes forever to get to but my 10th row tix made up for that. Skids was Skids, Not-Bas was Not-Bas. I am so tired of Ted its not even funny so I walked around but I still heard his pathetic rantings about gays, liberals etc etc etc. Very sad.

I have gotten so used to the Wont Get Fooled Again curtain drop that I was stunned when it didnt fall. Eventually it did and the roadies had to hold it in place in order to cover the stage. The show was incredible, my first time with the new set list. I prefer Heavens On Fire after Psycho Circus just because I'm used to it but it doesnt matter a bit. 100, 000 Years was the standout track as was Love Gun, but it helps that Love Gun is my favorite song. There were a few mistakes, Gene sang the first few words of Shock Me because Ace was too slow getting to the mic, Gene started the sway dance thing in Deuce early, he started it, stopped, started it stopped. Pretty funny. Gene seemed to get a bit lost during Let Me Go RNR but hey, all in the name of rock and roll. Also, something else I found amusing was Gene balancing a drum head on his nose during Lick It Up. At the San Diego show he balanced a hat on his nose during the same song. Hmm.

It was incredible, worth the trip, worth the money and worth the wait. On to Portland!!!
