KISS Farewell Tour Reviews

From: Mike Nerychel
Well let me see, where do I start? It's about time Kiss had some good opening bands. The last two tours the openers sucked! First, Skid Row. I was kind interested to see how their new singer was after reading all the other reveiws. This was the 2nd time I've seen them. I saw them in Detroit about 10 years ago. Well, I thought he was good. He did a real good job. The band was really into it. The arena was just about full when they took the stage. The crowd was into it from the start. They sounded good and seemed to get the crowd going.

Uncle Ted was, well,...Uncle Ted. He said all the things that people said he would. He was home in Michigan and I think he could of said anything and the people would cheer. This was the 4th time I've seen Ted, 3 solo, 1 Damn Yankees. He played all his classic tunes, gave his world according to Ted sermon, and kicked ass. Ted rules!

Then Kiss! This was the 4th Kiss show I've been to. I also saw the Hot in the Shade tour, Reunion tour at Tiger Stadium, and the Psycho Circus tour on New Years Eve '98 at the Palace of Auburn Hills. Overall it's probably the 2nd best one I've seen, Reunion show being best, Hot in the Shade 3rd, Psycho Circus last. They were not into that one. Well onto to this one. Well there was really no suprises, to the set. They played many of the same songs from the last tour, but included a couple of '80's songs thrown in. The crowd really liked that. They played really well, Ace is the man! Paul sounded great, Gene was really playing his character, and Peter, who seemed to not be into it at the beginning, though he was playing well, seemed get into it as the show went on. He sounded really good when he sang, best I've ever heard him sound. Overall, it was a great show, I'm sad to see them go. Hopefully it won't be the last! Long live Kiss!!!!!!
