KISS Farewell Tour Reviews

From: John D
Well first of all this was Kiss concert number fifteen for me from the first time I saw then on the "Crazy Nights" tour back in 1988.Once again tonight they proved why they are still the greatest rock and roll band ever. The new intro to the show was so very cool,Ace ,Paul and Gene being lowered from the lighting rig with Peter being lowered right behind them while launching into the best opening number of all time"Detroit Rock City".Next was "Deuce"....Gene was in top form tonight.Stalking the stage and speaking volumes with his eyes throughout the night,Gene showed he is still the master of his kingdom.Pauls energy tonight seemed relentless...he never stopped moving the audience, and being the best frontman rock and roll has ever seen with this being the "Farewell Tour" and all :his raps in between songs were very honest and sincere."We Love You Too KISS!!"Ace was in top form as well,"Shock Me",and "2000 Man" were done perfectly and Ace pulled off a magical solo including "Theme from 2001 and a medly of various KISS songs including "Hard Times"from the "Dynasty"lp.Peter didn't have a long solo tonight but I tell you he played his heart out and never missed a beat. His vocals on "Black Diamond "showed he is in top vocal form. All the special effects were there and any mishaps were so small only a diehard would even notice. The 80"s songs played came over better tonight than I have ever heard them before live. Thanks KISS for one of the greatest shows on earth once again. My best friend who went with me ,this was his first KISS concert and he left being amazed and glad to take in a major piece of rock and roll history. Not to mention he left being a fan of KISS.Two more shows until the last time I see them.Never will any band match the wonder and excitement and the magic that is KISS.Hat's off to Gene,Ace,Peter,Paul,Bruce,Eric Carr, and Eric Singer."WE LOVE YOU !"
