KISS Farewell Tour Reviews

From: Pat Pattonelli
I was so impressed by the boys' performance this time out that i just might have to make the trek out to madison square garden for the tour rap up in september. the meadows seemed ready to explode when kiss came on. everybody in the house stood for he entire show and many even stood on their seats. all four members were on top of their game this particular night.

Paul was his usual electric self. his playing was solid and his vocals were especially good. in past shows, paul has sometimes taken an easier route on some vocals by singing a lower melody but tonight he nailed it- his high notes in heaven's on fire were killer! and as always he got the crowd to scream on command like only he can do.

Ace was right on the money with his vocals on shock me and 2000 man which is unusual for him. loud and clear and he actually came in on all his cues. his solos were studio quality and he even managed to sneak in a little horseplay with Gene which was fun.

Peter seemed really happy to be there. unfortnately, his only lead vocals were on beth and black diamond. his backing vocals were solid especially on lick it up and heavens on fire- ironically, tunes he wasn't even around for when they came out. he turned in some solid work on the drums, though i could tell his wrists were bothering him- he wasn't hitting ! the toms as hard as i've seen him hit them in the past. he did put a little more blood and guts into his drum solo though and the place went absolutely ballsy when he came ut for beth.

Gene surprised me the most with his vocals actually taking some high harmonies and not even forgetting the words to let me go rock n roll which he does on occassion. his solo was demonic as usual and just gave the impression that this is one dude that you don't screw with! he probably had about 3 gallons of sweat drip off of him and just left everything he had on the stage.

gonna miss the guys... what can i say. if you read this review and you haven't caught the farewell tour yet, don't miss out. it's a once in a lifetime thing. hope to see you at MSG! thanks for memories guys! KISS will always be in my heart and soul....
