KISS Farewell Tour Reviews

From: Gordon "SW" Cottrill
What a fitting place to see the FAREWELL TOUR! We decided to go early & hang out in the amusement park all day & then catch the show that night! Hershey Park 2000 seemed a lot like Kiss Meets The Phantom in 1978. There was excitement in the air & every other person in the park was decked out in either a KISS shirt, or Kiss makeup, & or both...As show time approached, we filed into Hershey stadium, & took our seats for the show. On this night, Skid (NOTHING WITHOUT SEBASTIAN)Row would not be performing.. The show started with The Motor City Madman TED NUGENT.. He opened with Stormtroopin & kept the crowd pumped throughout the hour with all the Nug faves...After closing with The Great White Buffalo, it was time for THE HOTTEST BAND IN THE LAND!!!! They seemed loose & having fun, which was good to see. Ace was in fine form on this night as well too. While Paul was giving a speach from the heart towards the end of the night, Ace took it upon himself to throw at least 30 picks into the audience one right after the other, which Paul noted with a chuckle...The boys were on tonight, Fire after "Firehouse" blood before "God Of Thunder" Paul in the middle during "LOVE GUN", Guitar solo after 2000 Man. I did find it very odd that hardly anyone in Hershey seemed to know 2000 MAN!, but that was OK, we were saying goodbye to what I will gladly testify is the greatest band ever! I have been a fan since 76', & I have said that forever. There never will be a band 1/2 as great as they are.. Kiss is the whole reason I play music today! Our band is named after one of their songs . Strange Wayz (We spell it with a z). We played 19 Kiss songs when we did 3 set nights... I can't thank KISS enough for the inspiration they have given me over the years. They closed the night with the traditional Rock & Roll All Night, & left in the midst of a 20 minute firework display while God Gave Rock & Roll To You Played in the background.. What a send off.. Thank You KISS, ! You will never know how much inspiration you have had to me over the years.... Check us out www.strangewayz.net
