KISS Farewell Tour Reviews

From: Greg Reese
How to start, with the positves of the show, or the poor logistics of the venue? I'll start with the bad so that i can end on a high note. It took me an hour to go the last 4 miles or so to get in. Consequently, I only cuaght the last two Skid Row songs, and I was one of the first 2000 cars there(I know because they gave away free Poison/Cinderella tickets to the first 2000 cars).

From what little I heard, Skid Row was about what I expected, not great, but all right. Ted Nugent rocked. My only complaint about Ted's set was you couldn't hear the vocals over the screaming guitar. Ted got a little political but it got good crowd reastion. I'm not sure that hearing Cat Scratch Fever is enough to make a gay guy strait (as Ted says) but it rocked.

KISS did their typical show. I know it sounds bad, a an average KISS show is GREAT by any other standard. I have to admit that I wasn't as hyped for this show as I was for the Reunion show, but it was pleasently surprised. High spots:Do You Love Me? with video,2000 Man with video, Heaven's On Fire, God of Thunder ,and Love Gun. The band looked and sounded great, especially Ace. Sure I would have picked a slightly different setlist, but KISS has so many to choose from, you can't please everyone. Probably my third favorite KISS show, behind the Reunion tour, and Animalize(my first live KISS show, seen every one since then). Legends never die, long live KISS.
