KISS Farewell Tour Reviews

From: RGH
I don't care what people say, if you can KISS, do it! The two shows had the same set list, so there is no reason to list it again. All I can say is wow! Friday was Gene's birthday in KC and they brought out the huge cake resembling breasts. After taking off a "nipple" Gene threw the rest into the crowd. The stage at Sandstone is smaller so they had to adjust the setup and put the large logos on the stage outside the speakers which took away some of the effect. It was also neat to see how they teather the ropes for Pauls' gear so he can still get to the small stage even though everything but the stage itself is not coverered. Riverport in St. Louis is much better for an outdoor setting with the stage being wider, deeper, and a lot of covered seating. The logos were back up by Peter to the side of the large screen directly behind him. It was funny when Gene said, "hello Kansas City" right after DRC was finished. After taking some ribbing from Paul, Gene tried it again after laughing and shaking his head in disbelief, adding "St. Louis." It was a very hot and fairly humid night which Peter went shirtless (not that pretty of a sight I might add) as he did in KC and Ace played RRAN in a regular KISS t-shirt. In KC, Peter was also late getting back to the drum set before RRAN so Paul had to stall by saying "all we need is Peter to get to his drum set," then went in to saying so we can rock and roll all night and party every day just as Peter arrived. Pretty funny moment that probably pissed off those in the audience who can't have a little fun like the boys seemed to be having. I've read other reviews and I guess it's true that Skid Row changed their name to Skid F###ing Row. What a bunch of bull! Uncle Ted will never change. Great music and band, but can leave the filth for the club scene when he's done with KISS. Those who claimed they've been ripped off must have been drunk or at a different concert because the boys give it their all like the! y always do. See you Wichita and thanks for the great memories.
