KISS Farewell Tour Reviews

From: Vincent
First of all, I have to say that this was my first concert experience ever besides the Grand Ole Opry, which doesn't count at all, and I was totally blown away! I've been a diehard KISS fan for about a year and a half now. I bought the Stone Cold Metal CD and had never heard KISS except for "Rock and Roll All Night". I put it on #2 and heard "God of Thunder" and I've been addicted to them ever since. When I found out they were coming to Knoxville, I went nuts. I woke up early the next morning and drove 45 min. to Knoxville to get tickets. I couldn't believe I had KISS tickets in my hands. I got home and set them on my dresser and stared at them for 2 months solid. Then the day finally came, April 30...KISS!!!

I got there early and got a couple of T-shirts, a keychain, and a metal lithograph. My and my friend got something to drink and proceeded to our seats. While walking around the venues, I looked through the doorway to the arena and saw the huge black stage, this is when my heart rate approached 150.

Skid Row came on, and they were ok. But I was really looking forward to see Uncle Ted and of course, KISS!!! Skid Row went off and Nuge came on. He rocked. Mr. Aldredge on the drums was very impressive. Cat Scratch Fever, Dog Eat Dog, and Stranglehold were awesome. Then he went off, and I knew that the greatest band to ever set foot on stage was next! The huge curtain dropped and you could feel the electricity. They busted out into DRC like there was no tomorrow. It was just hit after hit, nonstop flamboyant and incredible action. I couldn't believe what I was seeing, it was the thrill of my life! From Gene's fire-breathing & blood-spitting, to Pete's pounding drum solo, to Ace's blistering solo, to Paul's "Love Gun" on his mini-stage...I was screaming at the top of my lungs, I was shaking all over, and my heart was pounding. I saw no mistakes, except for once when Gene and Paul looked at each other like they were confused about something. KISS just shows and unbelievable amount of respect for everyone, they never stopped saying,"We love you Knoxville" or "Thank you Knoxville". I know I can't find all of the words to describe it fully. It has been 4 days and my adrenaline is still pumping! Wow, all I can say is WOW! If you haven't been, GO!!!

Thank you so much KISS, for everything!
