KISS Farewell Tour Reviews

From: Charla Brown
Being my first Kiss concert experience, I have to rate it as the coolest thing I have ever experienced in my entire life!! We arrived at the Pan Am Center at about 6:30 and the line was unreal, but thank goodness it went real quickly. The wait was pretty cool. We saw a lot of people with face paint and even a few that had the whole shabang. one guy even was driving around in his van with his camcorder filming the crowd. When we got in the building we decided to go ahead and get our shirts and stuff. The lines were horrible!! We ended up missing most of Skid Row. When we got to our seats they were playing their last song. They had about a 20 minute break then Ted Nuget came out. I have never really been much of a fan of his, I only know Stranglehold and Cat-Scratch Fever, but let me tell you he is very impressive. I have a whole new respect for him. After he was done is when everything got real crazy. We must have had the psycho-seats because one guy was very drunk started a fight with another guy and threw him a few seats down. A few minutes later he was passed out and then started pucking on himself. Kiss hadn't even made it out yet. Then I was holding my husbands seat for him and yet another drunk guy was going to sit above us and fell and bruised the crap out of my arm, he also pucked all over himself and was escorted out by police. All I could think was "Why would you spend $50 and then show up so drunk you can't even enjoy the best show in the world?" Then here came Kiss. Their entrance was soooo cool. The sound was excellent! Paul Stanley sure knows how to move!! VERY IMPRESSIVE!!! Heavens on Fire was very cool with all the fire and explosions. I was hoping they would play Christine 16, but I got over it. Ace is absolutely the BEST guitar player I have ever heard. When Gene was on stage by himself, his axe guitar glowing of green, he spewed blood out and it was one of the sickest things I had ever seen. But is was so fun watching I didn't care that it was sick. The absolute best part was RARAN. All the confetti and the fans going wild, I hate to see it all end. It sucks that these guys are retiring when they are still so damn energetic and awsome. I am praying that some way we can catch them again before this tour is over. If you are debating on whether to go to this concert or not, believe me, GO!!! I have always liked Kiss, but was never a big fan until I met my husband who was a die hard fan. Now, me and my 2 daughters can't get enough of them. My oldest is 8 and adores Gene because she can touch her nose with her tongue, aand my youngest is 5 and her hero is Ace. She thinks he is cool because he shoots out rocket ships. All 4 of us dressed up as them for Halloween. So take it from a somewhat new fan, this concert will be one the most exciting things you will EVER experience. Well worth $50. Enjoy!!!!!!!
