KISS Farewell Tour Reviews

From: Jeff Starr
Hello fellow Kiss army cadets! Serious manouvers took place at Mandalay Bay here in Vegas last nite! What a show, all I can say is I am thankful they came back to Vegas a second time for a final goodbye. I will give you all a breakdown of the proceedings right now.

First Neve was kind of interesting. These guys opened up instead of the BASless Skid Row. They had some catchy songs, I never heard of the band before & I don't think anyone else around me had either. They kind of reminded me of the Goo Goo Dolls or somehing. Good playing & songs but not the bite.

Next uncle Ted came out & rattled off various politically incorrect rants as usual. His playing & band were tight & they really kicked some butt though. Seemed even tighter than the last time I seen him, did all the classics, just needs to let his guitar do the talking a little more.

Then the moment that made me jump out of my seat!!! Kiss came down playing Detroit Rock City on the platform, new intro, way cool!! The band was playing great!!! Peter really had a great drum sound, really kicked the I Love It Loud the way Eric Carr did. Paul was on top of his game, prancing & rocking all over the stage. Loved when he did I Still Love You before Black Diamond. Ace got upset with the light man who was operating the spotlight during his solo. Called him an idiot when he failed to shine the light on him during the part in his solo when he shoots the rockets. Gene was looking like he was having a great nite, played awesome! At the end of the concert the guys seemed in great spirits, Peter got a fans banner & wore it like a cape, the guys were high fiving & seeming to really enjoyed the show. What ever happens to the footage they shoot on the screen monitors behind the band? Never see those around & I tell you the camera work is awesome, even caught some of Gene & Paul's female fans exposed if you know what I mean! Anyway no changes to the setlist, just the classics like you have seen & hear all tour & I am just thankful I got to see the guys one more time! Thank YOU KISS for coming back!!!
