KISS Farewell Tour Reviews

From: Terri Bey
It was my first Trip to Vegas, so what is a good excuse to go?: KISS.

I flew in the day before on 8/1, and I found Vegas to be awesome. I even saw BB King and Buddy Guy ( two of Ace's influences btw) at the same hotel where KISS was going to play, the Mandalay, except BB and Buddy were at the House of Blues and KISS were gonna be at the Events Center. BB and Buddy put on a great show, btw. Anyway, you all wanna hear about KISS. Here we go:

Concert day: Aug, 2

I hang out at the Mandalay Bay Hotel and run into Tommy Thayer and quiclky meet Ted Nugent. Nugent was in a real hurry to get somewhere. I was not able to see the guys in the band because the security guy asked me to move. I was a little disappointed. I go back to my hotel , the Luxor, and get ready for the show. I go back the Mandalay Bay and walk all the way through the casino and by the shops to get to the Events Center. I find to my dismay that I could have snuck a camera in as no purses were being checked. Anyway, I bought a couple of shirts and walked around. I had 12th row, ACE'S SIDE and they were awesome seats. I didn't listen to Neve's set until the end of their set, and I walked around during Nugent's except to hear a couple of songs.

Well, I go down my seat and chat with some friends who had made the show. Van Halen, like the other 16 previous shows, was playing until the Who song, "We won't be fooled again." got started and I took my seat.

KISS was AWESOME. I thought the band played pretty tight. Gene was his usual demonic self. Paul was flirting with the ladies as always. He sang great. Peter played well. And our resident spaceman KICKED BUTT. Ace was great, IMO.   He was very fit. He looked great and was very animated. The setlist had been unchanged. I don't think the show was sold out either as I noticed quite a few empty seats. Pyro was great.

All in all I had a great time.

I left the arena and my friend who lives there and I tried to meet the guys but we were informed that they had left for their break. I was disappointed, but I did get my picture taken with Doc McGhee.

OH, did I say there was an EXTRA BONUS???

Aug. 3, the day after the KISS show:

As I said in my review, I was staying at the Luxor, and I had slept until 12 Noon. I just walked around and had dinner in my room. Well, I had heard that Ace would stay another day and what did I have to lose? I thought I would give it one more shot. It was about 11:30-11:45pm or so and I went down to the Casino and I just scan the floor and ( ladies, don't have a heart attack on me now) I see a six foot one , long haired sexy guy with a shoulder bag and I knew it WAS ACE FREHLEY. I came from behind , tapped him on the shouder, and we just chatted. He was cool. He even told his body guard that I was alright. IS THAT COOL OR WHAT???? I told him of a mutual friend we had and told him of a couple of presents I gave him, and he said, "Ok." It was cool.   He also introduced me to the girl he was with. I had my picture taken with him as well.   We embraced and that was it.

It was a great show and a great encounter with Ace as a bonus. Of the 17 shows, I went to, this was defintely one of the shows I will remember for a long time.
