KISS Farewell Tour Reviews

From: Dave Adair
WOW!! First of all, let me just say this was my 14th time seeing KISS, & it was without question the BEST EVER!! Louisville has some GREAT fans, they didn't let up all night, they did KISS proud. I've seen KISS in 12 arenas, 9 cities, & 7 states, & this was a night I'll never forget. Ted was awesome, & the Skids were ok I guess, very loud, but ok. If you're going to bring your kids, bring earplugs for them, we had 6th row, & someone behind us had a young boy about 8 to 10, & he was bawling holding his ears, I felt so bad for him. I can't imagine being his parent & having to leave this show...he pepped up for KISS though..go figure! Anyhow instead of doing the same'ol same'ol, I'll just offer some observations that I noticed. All 4 were really in fine form, a previous review talked of the Ace & Paul banter about "Mr. Wonderful"...Ace started after Paul said "Ace is gonna tell ya all about this next one"... Ace then referred to Paul as "Mr. Wonderful" & laughed introducing "Shock Me"..there was no sarcasm, they were laughing it up...easier to notice this from 6th row. Paul then referred to Ace the same way after Ace's solo & after we sang Happy Birthday to him!! It was cool. Gene was really having a ball stomping on water bottles & squirting people on our side. Peter was the only one I was worried about, & I watched him alot...he was VERY impressive all night..GREAT vocals on Black Diamond & Beth. No Ace medleys in the solo which I hoped to hear.Paul was just really top notch..referring to the Kentucky derby he bragged how he had few phillies in his many Louisville appearances. Overall just a wonderful and impressive show to say goodbye to Louisville...those fans are really going to miss KISS, & they proved it! Now it's back to my hometown of Chicago to say my Farewell to the boys..FROM THE SECOND ROW May 11th!!! I'll be in the red CUBS hat..stop by & say hello!! C U There!!
