KISS Farewell Tour Reviews

From: Tony Priest
Just got back into town from the Lubbock show. Here's my take:

New Texas Tech United Spirit Arena (15,000) seats.....awesome! Organization and security were superb!

Skid Row....yeah, I know the new guy is from Texas, but, uh, no. Didn't like these guys. Saw them with Bon Jovi a few years ago and they were MUCH better w/Sabastian. The mix was terrible--way too loud and way too bassy.

Terrible Ted....I've seen him several times over the years and I think he is better than ever. Only one black mark against him--A little too political during "Kiss My Ass" for me. Boys and girls, the man can play.

KISS....what can I say? Do these guys ever put on a bad show? I've seen the boys countless times and I really enjoyed them again. One particularly funny thing that happened during the show occurred when Gene flew up to the lighting rig. He either knocked over his mike stand or it fell over, because when it was time for him to start singing, he had the mike held in his mouth like a dog bone. Paul and Ace were looking up at him wondering what had happened. Suddenly, they showed Gene on the big screen w/the mike in his mouth--Paul and Ace died laughing!!

Anyhow, enjoyed the show, but I think it's time to hang it up. I did manage to get a poor audience recording of the show and would trade for similar. Thanks a lot guys, we've enjoyed you.
