KISS Farewell Tour Reviews

From: Drew Bennett
Greetings from Texas. I just got back from seeing them in Lubbock and I must say it was great. But I think it was good for other reasons than a good performance. Ace looked great and so did Peter. It's pretty obvious that Paul's wig is gone as his hair is somewhat short for having longer hair but he played with it all night. Here's the big scoop: Gene spits his blood, flies up with 1footon the platform. He eventually gets on and reaches for the mic but it collapses in his hand! Gene then yells down to the stage but no one can hear him and the song is well into the intro. During all of this, though, Gene manages to get his "Oh, Yeah's" in. (much to our surprise, at this point.) He begins singing and not playing and when it became time for him to REALLY play, he stuck the mic in his mouth! Paul helped out on the chorus but the cool thing was that Gene made do with what he had. And as I watched him play it out and sing his ass off, I realized why I was such a KISS fan! I screamed the loudest I think I ever have last night. And in Lubbock of all places!
