KISS Farewell Tour Reviews

From: Andrew
Superb, Brilliant and any other words that can be used to describe something of a superior standard/quality . . . .

I wont bore you with the normal run of the mill song lists etc etc etc as they are pretty much the same as else where . .. . My personal highlights included "Firehouse", "100,000 years","Talk to me" and "Love Gun" (where Paul flew out into the audience and was playing no more than 2 meters away from where we sat . .sensational the amount of raw energy this man puts out . . . . . . .

Some differentiating non planned stuff that happenned in the 1st of a series of what are sure to be brilliant concerts . . . . . . . There was a KISS wedding (hmmmm?? dont know about that one???), Ace's 2nd guitar rocket designed to blow up the hanging ball flopped . . it barely made it half way . . . . . Shortly afterwards one of the lighting rigs came crashing to the ground (thankfully no one was injured), Eric Singer sang the 2nd verse of Black Diamond where the first verse should have been sung and in the 2nd verse again sang the 2nd verse (but these are all the little things which make a live performance a live performance) . . Paul seemed to be transfixed on some lucky young lady in the front left hand corner of the stage as he kept signalling and motioning toward her . . . .

All in all this is a brilliant show and even though I pretty much knew what to expect, my brother and I left speechless again. . .sad to know that this is one of the final times we will get to see the brilliant KISS. It will take an exceptional act to top this in coming years, I feel we have been spoilt and dont not know what we are missing until they are gone . . I am sure all else will pale in comparison to this awsome stage show, costumes and arsenal of songs which have matured and grown over 28 years . . .. I will see KISS a further 3 times (2 more in Melbourne and 1 in Brisbane), I am sure by the time the last show hits I will realise that it is the final time . . .very sad . . . .

I just wanted to say thanks Paul, Gene, Ace, Eric Carr (RIP), Peter Criss, Eric Singer, Bruce Kulick and the rest of the KISS family for the fantastic contribution to music in general and more personally the influence on my life and memories . .. . everytime I think of nice childhood memories KISS contribute heavily to that happiness . . so thanks!!!!!!!!!!! This show is a great testiment to your careers!!!!!!!!

To the people of Melbourne . . . let your natural conservative tendancies go a little and get into it . . .. . . we are witnessing the last of a great Rock and Roll experience/extravaganza . . . . . . . you paid your money so you obviously want to be there now show your appreciation and pull your heads out of your arses . .. one of the quietest gatherings of 15,000 people I have ever heard (except for a few spazmotic outbursts) . . . The crowd noise just didnt do this great rock band justice ! ! ! !
