KISS Farewell Tour Reviews

From: Bryan
I walked into the arena thinking that Skid Row and Ted Nugent were going to bore me but I was VERY wrong. Even though the new singer for Skid Row looks, sounds and acts like Sebastian Bach, they still put on a hell of an energetic show. The singer(forgot his name) ran all over the stage-almost sprinting from one side to the other. Ted Nugent made sure to put his 2 cents in on Janet Reno, Sarah Brady, Al Gore, & Bill Clinton during his song "Kiss My Ass"

Then finally at about 9:15 the lights went out and Kiss hit the stage. This show was better than the '97 reunion show I saw in St Louis. I've been hearing about Peter not hitting the drums hard enough but he did at this show-he even did a short solo which I didn't expect. Paul was his usual showman self, imitating Elvis and playing his guitar behind his back, etc. They all looked like they were having a great time along with the fans but I noticed Gene didn't stick his tongue out as much as he usually does! He also didn't run around a whole lot and stalk the stage like he seemed to do in past shows. "Psycho Circus" should be dropped because it just didn't sound right to me. I'm all for newer songs but "..Circus" just isn't it! "Let Me Go, Rock & Roll" was also dissapointing. Too overdriven and I couldn't even recognize the song the first 10-15 seconds of it and I've been a HUGE Kiss fan for 22 years!! "Heaven's On Fire" was great--the flames were so intense you could feel the heat a third of the way back on the side of the stage(where my seats where). I could've done without the guy in the next aisle puking and drunk and making a mess or the girl behind me dressed like Gene Simmons lighting a doobie but other than that I had the time of my life. Go see this tour or you'll be sorry!
