KISS Farewell Tour Reviews

From: Duane Kaufman
First of all....We were late.....Missed Skid Row.....WHO CARES!!!!!!! My 36th and final show (maybe they will get into the R & R Hall of Fame)with my wife, 8 year old daughter Leanne and 7 year old son Morgan in hand we went to an amphitheather facing Lake Michigan in 40 degree weather to watch the end of THE GREATEST show band ever created. To start our show...Nugent....what an opening act. Very outspoken as always he warmed us up for the heat that was to come. His drummer Tommy Aldridge is the most underrated drummer in rock. Tommy is in his 50's playing like he did when he was Black Oak Arkansa and Ozzy. Ted version of his "Motown Classic" Cat Scratch Fever" was great. "This song will make fags want to go home and eat pussy" he said. It was slower and really sounded great.

After Ted the kids were hungry so popcorn it was till I heard the intro to We Won't Get Fooled Again by The Who. The black curtain dropped with the silver Kiss logo on it and the crowd went nuts. Kiss started the show with DRC in the lights. That was really great. Paul, at 48, is still the ultimate showman. He was non stop dancing and running around the stage. Peter was full of smiles all night while chewing away on his gum. Ace was even alittle more active then normal. And of course Gene was Gene. Humping the air, wagging his tongue, pointing to women in the crowd, just being himself. The JumboTron did not work which was dissapointing. During Aces solo one of his rockets missfired into the audience but nobody got hurt. Pauls little ride into the audience for Love Gun didn't work either and he was mad, but the showman he is he went on. The best part of the show was during Deuce. Gene was close to Ace giving him the tongue wag when Ace gave it back to him. Gene started laughing as did Ace. It was great to see them get along. Hopefully the R & R Hall of Fame commity will get of their asses and get "The Hottest Band in the World" inducted. Go see the show and enjoy.
