KISS Farewell Tour Reviews

From: Dave Walsh
All that I can say is WOW! I had tickets in 6th row center and I can say my dreams have now been fulfilled. This is the 4th time I've seen KISS, but the first time I've been this close to the stage (I had row 17 for the Reunion) and it is an amazing experience. The guys were all on. Ace was spectacular, Peter sounded awesome, both his drumming on I Love it Loud which impressed me, and his voice for Black Diamond has never sounded better. Paul also sounded better than I have ever heard him, the Phantom voice training was obvious. Gene was in pure Demon mode and the crowd loved him.

The songs were excellent. Ace and Peter seemed to really get off on playing Lick it Up, Heaven's on Fire, and I Love it Loud and the crowd loved these songs which haven't been heard before with this line up. The classics, DRC, Deuce, and SIOL started the show off with great energy and the crowd never let up for the whole show. The conclusion is phenominal, with more confetti for RARAN than you can imagine! You could hardly see Gene on the stage! Some of my highlights would be Deuce, Cold Gin, 2000 Man, and Detroit Rock City. I love these particular songs and they did an awesome job with them. I have no complaints about the show whatsoever (and if you read my review of the Psycho Circus tour, also in Montreal, you'll see my opinion of the show this time around is much better!). The guys had fun on stage with each other, Ace patting Paul's ass, Gene licking Ace's neck, high fives all around, it was great to see them having so much fun.

I will miss KISS concerts more than any other band who has or will soon retire, they give the crowd what they want and do it better than anyone. I'm off to Toronto to see tomorrow night's show at the Air Canada Center, so look for my review of that show soon.
