KISS Farewell Tour Reviews

From: Steve G.
First of all, I'll start by saying that I thought Skid Row kicked ass, contrary to some of the other reviews I've seen. They really interacted with the crowd well, and sounded great. On the other hand, I wasn't too impressed with Nugent. I guess that I'm tired of hearing all of his political crap. I decided to take a bathroom break during his performance. Now, on to the main event. This was by far the best KISS show that I've ever attended. I also had the best seats that I've ever had - 4th row! (Thanks VH-1!) All the members appeared to be really enjoying themselves last night. I had met Ace the night before at the airport, and got an autograph. So during the show he came to my side of the stage and gave me a thumbs up and a wink. It made my night! He did screw up a couple of times though, he couldn't hang the guitar on the wire during the solo, and he started to play "Shock Me" again instead of "2000 Man". He said "Hit it Pete!" and Peter kind of shrugged his shoulders and laughed, and Ace realized that they had already played it so he said "What would I do without you guys?", to which Gene replied "Nothing!" It was pretty funny. As far as the actual music, everything sounded great, especially Peter. He was playing the hell out of those drums! He even played his solo during 100,000 Years. I was impressed. Gene was his usual self, trying to get the girls to lift their shirts. But he was also smiling and having a good time. And Paul was a master at working the crowd, as usual. This is a show that must not be missed. It was kind of sad knowing that this would be the last time that I would see them perform, but at the same time, they went out with a bang! What a show, I'll never forget it!
