KISS Farewell Tour Reviews

From: Tony Bittle
DAMN! What can I say?!?! The concert was just INCREDIBLE!! We drove from Carbondale Illinois, to Nashville for the concert, and it was worth every mile!! The weather was perfect, Tennessee people are just the friendliest people you'd ever want to meet, and KISS went that extra mile to make sure that the fans got every dollar worth. We wanted to see them in Nashville, because of the Lawn seating, which always guarantees a party atmosphere... KISS just announced that they are coming to the arena here in Carbondale in September, but I know that it just won't be able to match the atmosphere of AmSouth! Skid Row, I felt put on a so-so show...but, I'm not a Skid Row fan. (My wife LOVED it!) AmSouth screwed-up both the video projection, and the sound until about 3/4 of the way through Nugent's set. The sound was very muffled, and wavered quite a bit. Ted's guitar just didn't cut through they way that it should have... I don't know if KISS was using a totally different set of stacks, or whatever-but the sound was nothing short of incredible!! Hands-down the BEST concert that I have EVER been to!! I used to work concert security back when I was in college, so I have been to my share of awe-inspiring shows-but this took the cake! Everyone that I have talked-to has said the same.

Paul's sincerity was what blew us away! When he was talking about how the _FANS_ were the ones who made all of their success happen, and that any band that doesn't give the fans respect-do not deserve the the fans respect, or dollars. He seemed so genuine, and down-to-earth. That part really made the concert. :)

The lawn seating was cool! Didn't see any trouble, and the crowd was really friendly! Nugent's set just plain rocked! (Although it would have been really nice to be able to see, and hear him better.) Ted is never one to gloss-over anything, and this concert was no exception... He let his political and personal views be well-known. If there was anyone there with thin-skin, I'm sure that they were offended. Unless you were a total dyed-in-the-wool Redneck, there was something to offend just about anyone who is even a little open-minded... But, Ted is the MAN! I had never seen him in concert, and have been a fan ever since I was a little-guy, and he certainly didn't disappoint! I especially thought it was cool when he called for a moment of silence for a Nashville police officer who was in the hospital after being gunned down by some "little-piece-of-shit". Ted suggested that anyone who could, either visit him, or send him a card. That is just flat-out cool!

All I can say is: If this tour is going to be in your area, (or even if it isn't) beg, borrow, steal, or whatever, for a ticket to this concert!! YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED!!!

It certainly put a smile on our faces! :)

The lights, and pyros that KISS employed blew us away! Nothing more needs to be said on that... :)
