KISS Farewell Tour Reviews

From: Jeff Wyatt
I saw the Memphis show and I left thinking they could not come close to topping that show. Did they top it? I don't know but they got very close. Let me begin by saying two things......I'm not a big fan of outdoor arenas. I just don't think the crowd noise is as loud as it is inside. The KISS shows i've attended at the Nashville Arena have been amazing. Great atmosphere. Having said that, let me just say I've never seen the ampitheatre here in Nashville filled quite like it was for this concert. The crowd was intense and the place was filled to capacity.

We skipped the openers as we sat in the merchandise lines. No big loss. KISS looked very good. once again they sounded as good as I've ever heard them. I had my doubts going in that they could pull off the entire show due to the size of the ampitheatre but they did. Their entrance was amazing and everyone seemed to enjoy it. My seats were not as close as Memphis but they were excellent seats...straight view of the entire stage. The configuration was different due to the size of the venue.

Lots of energy from the band. set list was the smae but they sounded really tight. Paul flubbed up the words to "Detroit Rock City" singing the second verse twice but hey ....he's entitled! He's Paul Stanley!!! Peter sounded really good again. He sounded good vocally and on the drums. He and Gene seemed to kid around alot during the show. The stunts all went well..no problems here. Once again, Gene had the Demon persona down. He is really going to miss the stage. It was evident that he felt that as 18,000 people chanted "Gene" during his solo.

Ace was...Ace. He tried to sing "Shock Me" again when it was time for 2000 Man. He told Peter to start "Shock Me" and Peter just laughed. Ace finally realized what he had done, laughed, and wondered aloud what he would sing. He laughed and started 2000 man. The only slight disappointment was the fact that he left off the obscure snippets out of his solo.(Memphis..he played NY Groove, Hard times, and Parasite)

Ace hit all the solos all night and sounded great. Paul was awesome as always and sounded really good. A great show in Nashville. These guys are having a good time and they're passing it along to us. We wanted the best and We're getting the best!!!!! I'm going to Louisville tomorrow night for what may be my final KISS show. See you there.
