KISS Farewell Tour Reviews

From: Kissmick
This is the second time to see Kiss on the Farewell tour. I saw them in Birmingham, Alabama at an indoor arena so it was nice to see them outdoors in Nashville.

First of all, we missed Skid Row as we sat in traffic trying to park...After we finally got parked at about 7:30 we made it inside the Ampitheatre just in time to get an adult beverage and a place to sit in the grass. The place was packed by the time Ted started. Ted was much more vocal in Nashville than he was in B'Ham. Not exactly sure why, but Ted was pretty good and I'm not a big Ted fan. I did decide to take a bathroom break during Stranglehold and I could not believe that the men's room line. It was like a mile long? The women's line was non-existent? First time I have ever seen that...

It was completely dark by the time Ted finished and the wait was on for Kiss.

The Who sang Won't get Fooled Again and most everybody started anticipating the show...this part of the evening is very exhilirating for me. I get butterflies for some reason. Then the show began...as it did in B'Ham, but the stage was different. The 2 big Kiss signs were at the bottom and side of the stage instead of at the top. The ceiling of the stage was much lower than B'ham as well so they didn't have far to drop in the beginning.

The sound was much better in Nashville. Not too loud, but loud enough. My ears rang for 3 or 4 days after the B'Ham show, but I was fine after this show. Maybe I'm too old, but B'Ham was too loud!

The set list seemed a bit different in Nashville. Can't name specifics, but I am sure the order was different.

Ace was a bit off...He wanted to play Shock Me twice...but the rest of guys were great as usual. Paul was the best I have ever seen him in B'Ham...and he was solid in Nashville. He said alot of the same things...

Overall, it was the best time I have ever had at a Kiss concert. I got to share my last Kiss show with my wife and a life long friend who originally introduced me to Kiss when I was 10 or so...(He first saw Kiss in 1979 in Huntsville...his parents went to see Dr. Hook/Kiss in Huntsville, Alabama and they took him along...he was 6 and had no idea who Kiss was until then...)

Again, the crowd at this show was very well behaved which makes me happy to be a Kiss fan. I hate attending shows where I feel like I might get shot or beaten up or thrown up on. Kiss fans are the best!

The 1:30 drive home turned into 3 hours because of the traffic problems getting out of the parking lot, but it was well worth it.

Thank You guys for a 27 great years.
