KISS Farewell Tour Reviews

From: Brett Macmillan
KISS made their way to oakland on the farewell tour thursday night and what a show. Skid Row went on around 7:00, playing 7 songs, all from the first 2 albums.I'm a skid row fan, but they REALLY miss sebastian bach alot, new singer johnny just doesn't quite make it(i remember you, really suffered). Ted nugent went on a little before 8, I'm not really a big Nugent fan but the crowd got in to him, and I must say that "kiss my ass" was alot of fun. Kiss came on just after 9. they did not show the video before the show, just lights out, curtain drop, and they were lowered from the ceiling. they were not frozen, they were smiling and waving to the crowd. they played everything expected, opening with Detroit Rock City, but they changed the order on some things, as they played Deuce 2nd,Heavens on Fire was much later in the show. Paul was in Awesome form both vocals and dancing and jumping around,Peter really seemed to be having fun, like he's really trying to soak this all in, Ace seemed alittle out of it at first but warmed up as the show went on,and Gene was Gene. Some of the highlights would have to be Do You Love Me, Let Me Go R&R,Deuce,Psycho Circus sounded really good, and of course Love Gun & R&R all night. Ace's solo was pretty much a bunch of noise, though that's really nothing new,I'm mean I love Ace but soloing is just not his thing,it's all about show. Peter did not do a drum solo, but sounded really good in both Black Diamond and Beth, Paul though really was in top form! this was the 12th time I'd seen Kiss and was certainly as good or better than any time I've seen them before, every tour since Dynasty. The world may not know this yet, but it's really going to miss these guys,I know I will,I'm hoping they come back around but if not this was a great way to say goodbye, you guys ARE the best, thanks for SO many great memories!!
