KISS Farewell Tour Reviews

From: Mark Schlatre
When I arrived in Little Rock traveling from Shreveport LA I did not know what to expect. I asked myself was this really the last tour... Well that questioned was answered as thousands and thousands of fans packed the ALLTEL arena last night.

The fans seemed really excited about the 2 opening acts and KISS could of not picked a better opening lineup with SKID ROW "without Sebastian Bach" .The new guy gives a tremendous effort and I think the fans of SKID ROW have a lot to look forward to.

The other lineup TED NUGENT rocked the ALLTELL arena with all of his classics "Wango Tango", Cat Scrath Fever"-a traditional political tune and ofcourse the infamous bow into the guitar trick electrified the crowd for what was about to hit them in the face.

KISS came out on stage slowly drawing themselves downward from the ceiling to what appeared to be crazed fanatics from all over when stepping out and ripping to "DETRIOT ROCK CITY" and much to my suprise the set list was changed up a little bit as DUECE was played immediately following and rocked the crowd to its ever living foundation..I knew then I was home with my 10,000+ family members and every person was on their feet. Paul then promised the crowd that this was the last night and that KISS would give them a night to remember. Playing all the classics and video stills used thruout the years was a real treat for the fans and the cartoonish detailed seens from VH1's KISS online weekly showing of their online cartoon was presented in a way like never before. I personally loved the video game footage but onward we go, The set list included Do you love me, 2,000 man with a wild ACE solo featuring 2001's space theme and some guitar ripps of his KISS classics was simply a moment of worship , others included 80's favorites I love it loud, Heavens on fire, and Lick it Up. I will admit this show blows away what Reunion shows could not give you and that is a louder and more crisp sound. I was also concerned with Peter Criss who apparently was very sick with neumonia and was unable to sing Beth on this evening. get well soon Pete. Paul Stanley did sing Black Diamond and the fans did not seem to mind. In all fairness this is the BEST KISS SHOW EVER and recommend it for all audiences.

Genes solo was ofcourse on full tap but I was concerned about his welfare because the ropes twisted and they brought him down to refly him to the top. Pauls flying stunt went exceptionally well but guys dont worry it was all good in the end of the stunt.

Other events taking place this evening included some fan sticking a lazer light in Pauls Eyes which made him furious and he did acknoledge the gentleman in a classic sort of way and I do agree that is a rude thing to do to anybody with a lazer pin.

Other than that, he asked the crowd not to forget KISS and that we will all be in their hearts forever. Well I want to share more but I am so exhausted from the trip I must now rest and comfortably sleep well because I just got rocked by the most awesome band in the land KISS.
