KISS Farewell Tour Reviews

From: Jim the elder
What a show!!! Even though it's all been seen before, they still blow any other act in the history of rock & roll off the proverbial stage. Having first seen KISS in '74 at age 16 on the Hotter than Hell tour and about a dozen times since then, it's been a lot of years of allowing this band to shape one's attitudes and ideals. This show may stand on it's own as it is the first time that I wasn't under the influence of anything. Getting old has it's downside, but I did take my 6 year old daughter who enjoyed it as much as anyone else in attendance. She clapped & sang along & collected confetti like a trooper considering she has never been to any live show previously. Also after the show was over a roadie near us gave her Gene's bloody towel. Talk about a unique souvenier. However, we did miss 100,000 Years due to a 'potty' break. The set list was exactly what other shows reported and there were no obvious technical problems. The band looked happy and were see mingly having fun as well. The crowd was better mannered than most concerts. We bought our tickets at the door got to sit about 10 rows out on Gene's side in the 2nd row risers. Lots of tits on the video screens was the only negative considering how many other long-time fans brought children.(Uncle Ted's foul mouth was a lot easier to explain.) We arrived too late for Skid Row but she nor I couldn't have cared less. No offense to their fans but... Anyway, this should have been a sad night but it was more of a celebration of all of our lives for the last twenty-some years. My final comment will concern the 'idiot' with the laser pointer, those things should be illegal! Maybe someday the audience near someone like that will take matters into their own hands and kick their ass in Paul's stead. Oh well, unless I see them again on this 'Farewell Tour', from this aging KISS veteran and junior Kiss fan at least I can die happy whenever the time comes. Thank You KISS, there will never be another band like you EVER.
