KISS Farewell Tour Reviews

From: Kandon Kane
Louisville - great. Columbus - pretty good. Indianapolis - absolutely phenominal! Cinci - very good. Detriot - always good. This is a summary of the shows ive been to thus far and as you can see all were worthy of KISS. With that said, now I have the bad news. And that bad news is the Phili show. Completely heartbreaking !!! I drove 12 hours only to have my worst fears confirmed. Those fears being that this is really is the final tour. I remember thinking to myself after all of the other shows that there is no way in hell that its over. They seemed to be having such a good time. Well the cracks showed in Phili. The show was a disaster from the get go. Ted's guitar was screwing up for the first 3 songs. He would be in mid song and it would just cut out. Needless to say he was pissed and was ready for his set to be over. But the one thing that got me was before Cat Scratch Fever he sarcastically dedicated it to Paul. Rock and roll egos clash again. I thought who cares Kiss is next and after that long drive from Indianapolis, I was ready. The first 4 songs everything seemed fine. Then the bottom fell out. Paul said something to the fact that Ace was going to sing this next one...if he could! ACE WAS BOMBED! It was very clear he was feeling no pain, and it was obvious that Paul was pissed. And it got worse! Paul began imitating Ace by doing his "fish lips" and throwing picks non stop. NOW I WAS PISSED! Granted Ace was drunk, but his playing was still ok. Yea he missed a couple of notes, but it was nothing the audience would have noticed if Paul would not have pointed it out. He actually said in the middle of a song and I quote "come on ace, keep up with me!" I was in shock! And it didnt get any better. Genes blood spitting and flying w/ "God of thunder" lasted maybe 5 minutes. Paul at the end of the night was very upset for he went as far as screwing up where they were playing that night. First he said Phili, then Camden!, then he said New York. NEW YORK!!! Paul never does stuff like this. Even Peter at the end of night was dishearted. He was saying something to Ace with very stern look on his face at the end of show. It was unbelieveable! I could not help but feel a little betrayed. I guess it goes to show that history always repeats its self. I just truly believed that all the crap was finally in the past. My feeling is this and I hope the guys are reading this - We are the Kiss Army. No other band has fans like us. So when crap like the Phili show goes on it hurts us. I know they probably didnt do it intentionally but the fact is that it happened. There is only a few months left on what has been something has always been a part of my life and I along with the rest of the Army deserve to have it end in a positive way. We have put to much into this for them to part as enemies (again!). Maybe I take this stuff too seriously, but as I said before they have been a part of my life for 26 years and this is something that is not going to easy to let go.
