KISS Farewell Tour Reviews

From: Joe Murphy
It took a while but wanted to give my impressions of the show. I don't want to waste my time to discuss Skid Row or Ted Nugent. This was a night for KISS. They never cease to amaze me. The show added some new twists to it, such as Gene and Ace on risers as well as Peter on Black Diamond. That is something I did not see in the other shows.Opening up with Detroit Rock City, they descended onto the stage actually playing the song with Peter coming down on his drum kit instead of all four on the one. The local paper trashed the show, but as KISS has said, the critics are the fans. They were all into every song and let me tell you it was hot that night and Gene was sweating so much, he had to squint his eyes numerous times to get the sweat out. It did not matter though, Paul was all over the stage, Gene was praying around the stage like the Demon we know. All of the band were in great spirits and Peter was great. The most memorable event of the evening was when my daughter Erin got to give a flower arrangment of 3 blue roses that I had special made for Peter(they were his mom's favorite). When she gave him the roses, Peter said on the microphone that she was a beautiful girl. My daughter was so excited, she is still talking about it to all her friends. KISS has been with me since 1977 and you know what, I never get tired of the "same antics" that people say their getting tired of. I am 38 years old and that night I was a kid again. I had the time of my life and I will never ever forget this band.It is just pure clean fun to escape real life for 2 hours and go to another place where you forget your problems and enjoy every song and every special effect that is thrown at you. I will never forget the memories and when KISS is mentioned in the future, I can proudly say, yeah I was there, and it was incredible. By the way, I hope Peter got the note I left inside the roses for him, thanking him for all the memories and for the memory of his mom.By the way, my 10 year old son who was at the show with us is starting to learn to play guitar, and he was mezmorized by Ace. He wants to play like him and Lord willing my son's dream can come true. Guys, I wish you the very best in your future and thank you for such a great evening and memories that will last forever.
