KISS Farewell Tour Reviews

From: Seamus O'Reilly
I just returned from my trip to the Northwest which was capped by a wonderful show in Portland. Call me nuts, call me crazy but I'd say this was one of the best shows of the tour for me. Meeting Skids before the show was very cool, I talked with Snake awhile and he commented on the Ace patch on my jacket. I bit the bullet and watched Ted's set, same as usual. One small thing I noticed is that after Kiss My Ass he said "You gotta stand up for what you believe in" yet 2 minutes earlier, in the song, he condemned the "hippies protesting in the streets." They, too, were standing up for what they believed in. I have no use for Ted, racism or homophobia in my life.

But KISS, I was delighted in seeing the banner fall during the cue this time. The set was the usual but the crowd was really, really into it up until 2000 Man where it seemed people were getting a bit tired. Peter seems so into it, hes smiling the whole time, it's great. They played great, Gene sang his ending to Let Me Go RNR, the "ooooooh yeah" in the middle but thats ok, just noticed it. Ace was late getting to the stage for God of Thunder and both he and Gene had to run onto the stage for Black Diamond to sing the first "wooh oooh". Gene didnt even have his bass on. All in all, a great show. Next stop for me, Mountain View!
