KISS Farewell Tour Reviews

From: Jon Law Hastings
Well yet another great night for rock & roll. We arrived at the Providence civic center with three 14th row seats and a boatload of film..Alas through all the excitement of seeing the boys again...My battery died on my camera...=[...Anyway on to the events of the night...Skid Row went over very well here. I noticed that they have a new drummer looks like a knock off Tommy Lee..However they put on a much better show than the two nights at Mansfield in June. They did Rock in Portland ME. though as well...Anyway...After that Ted F'N Nugent took to the stage for his LAST SHOW of the tour! HE seemd even more into his playing and overall performance based on that fact alone. I really hope that Ted decideds to go into the studio with Marco Mendoza and Tommy Alridge. Those three have a real chemistry! Way to go ted..Best Ted line of the night "Jimi got high and Jimi's dead...Ted decided to go huntin' and Ted's still Ted!" After that it was time for KISS! From the last scream of Roger Daltry during WON'T GET FOOLED AGAIN and the curtain dropping you could feel that this crowd was HOT! The lights went out and the base line kicked in...What a Rush..EVERY TIME YOU HEAR IT! ALLLLLL RIIIIGGGHHHTTTT PRRRROOOVVIIIDDEEENNNCCCEEEE..YOU WANTED THE BEST..YOU GOT THE BEST...THAT HOTTEST BAND IN THE WORLD...KISSSSSSSS...After 15 times of seeing these guys I ALWAYS feel like I am at my first show at that point...The boys descended down and kicked off a HIGH ENERGY two hour show...Pretty much paint by the numbers as far as setlist..There was some confusion during 2,000 Man and they played it a little longer than usual. DO YOU LOVE ME and LOVE GUN were the highlights for me and my fiance and her friend that was with us. Paul flew DIRECTLY over our heads. I had the WHITE ALL OVER MARVEL COMIC print shirt on and whild my fiance and I were standing on our chairs during LOVE GUN Gene pointed right at us and saluted us..I was showing him my GENE TATOO and he gave me the tounge and a knowing nod! THis show was so good! I will put it up there with my front row experience in Portland. If this is my last show.WHICH I DOUBT. I can safely say that I saw KISS doing what they do best. Entertaining us and giving us an escape! I will miss you KISS and will miss all that you have given us and all you have to offer! You have made a huge difference in my life! Thank you for 27 WONDERFUL YEARS! So c'mon and RAISE YOUR GLASSES!
