KISS Farewell Tour Reviews

From: Donna
It was Friday night before the holiday weekend, a good time to sit back, relax and enjoy the upcoming holiday weekend. And what better way to start one off than by seeing the greatest band in the world Kiss. We got to the arena around 8:30 or so and made our way through the parking lot and towards the direction of our seats. The band came on around 8:45 or so busting out "Detroit Rock City", as we made our way down towards our seats we paused in the lawn area and I was really surprised at how good you could see from up there. Everybody on the lawn was up on their feet, really enjoying the show. I wondered if I wouldn't have been just as well off to have bought a lawn ticket at that point, but anyway. We made our way down to our seats and when we got there everyone was standing up and it was hard to get into position because I believe an extra person had crowded down into our row, luckily though we were on the end so it wasn't too big of a deal because we had a good crowd and I was on my feet the whole time (it did kind of irritate me though when the band shut off the lights right before the encore and the guy sat in my seat, leaving me without one, but I digress). Anyway, we had a great crowd and the guys ran through the normal set list (I would've liked to have seen them mix it up just a little - I would've liked to have seen them play some of the songs they played on Psycho Circus Tour (I missed unfortunately) that I haven't heard live before like "Makin' Love"). I am seeing them 3 times on this tour and this was my favorite show. The sound was good (a lot better than when I saw them in Richmond the acoustics kinda suck in there), the crowd was good and the show was good. Even though I have had better seats at other places, the show just seemed pretty tight, the band and the crowd seemed to be really into it and I would rate this my best show so far. The security at these places though seems ridiculus, I wanted to go down on to a closer section after the show and get some confetti as a souvenir and they would not let me, what kind of stuff is this anyway, I pay $75.50 a ticket for a seat I did not sit in and $7.00 to park and I can't even walk down a section after the show and get confetti? One nice security person though was nice enough to go down and get me and another girl some so at least I appreciate that. I just didn't understand what the big deal was, almost everybody was gone out of the area and it's not like I was trying to jump through and go on stage, it was just a seating area for god's sake, what the big f*'n deal? Despite that, it was still a great show and I had a lot of fun. Thanks!
