KISS Farewell Tour Reviews

From: John Parsons
Let me start by saying Roanoke VA didn't deserve to have the greatest rock n' roll band on earth play on their stage last night. The audience totally sucked. They wouldn't clap, (with the exception of the people on the floor) they refused to even stand up. KISS came out and put on one hell of a show and gave it 150%. This is the 11th time I've seen the band live and I have never seen such a shitty crowd attend a live show. The people on the floor enjoyed themselves for the most part, but the whole 2nd and 3rd levels should have stayed at home. The group that I was with was sitting on the third level. I looked around the arena and it just bummed me out. We received dirty looks everytime we sang along or stood up. You could tell KISS was becoming irritated by such a lack of audience participation. During Ace's 2,000 Man solo you could hear a pin drop. A dumb ass behind me said "Ted Nugent is way better than he is". If I didn't have a broken hand at the time I would have smashed his fucking face in. Gene pulled out all the stops during the blood spitting to get the crowd going, but they hardly even responded. Paul finally said "C'mon people, this is a rock n' roll show. It aint time to sit down. C'mon get up!!!". But to no avail. The band even left the stage during 100,000 Years so Peter could extend his drum solo to get the crowd going. Only the people on the floor responded. Then came the intro to Black Diamond (where Paul went into the first verse of I Still Love You), but didn't do the heavy guitar riff, because there was no crowd reaction at all. Any other band would have just walked of the stage, but KISS is just not your average band. I would like to personally thank Roanoke for ruining the last time I ever got to see KISS.
