KISS Farewell Tour Reviews

From: Johnny Price
Hello KISS Fans! Well, Roanoke was stop #2 for me on this tour. This was going to be a very interesting one because this show was general admission or festival seating. We got there at 2:00 and the doors opened at 5:30. We were right up against the barracade to the right of Paul's mike. Unbelievable!!!! First off, I wish everyone would give the Skids a fair chance. True, the new singer is no Sebastian and I don't want another one! I thought that they kicked some major ass! Then came Uncle Ted. I can't say anything that hasn't been said already. Kudos to Ted. The boys were next . The set list was the same as the last 2 weeks or so. Paul and Gene flew, but Paul seemed a little slow on his take off for some reason. Ace's solo included Hard Times, Parasite and NY Groove. He fired the rocket at the first balloon and it didn't explode! Paul played a little of I Still Love You before Black Diamond. Peter's kit went up twice and the lifts were used. The flames on the front row were so hot that i could feel the sweat rolling off my forehead! I don't think that htis was as good as Greensboro, but it was close. They were not as sharp musically and they didn't play around as much. They were goofing off, don't get me wrong, just not as much. Ace threww a ton of pics out. Paul was especially interested in the two girls next to me on the front row. Let's just say KISS Exposed 2 could have been shot there. If these women were not friends before the show, they are now!! There was a typo on the Roanoke shirts. I don't know if anyone else caught this or not. I saw KISS for the first time on the Dynasty tour in Roanoke on July 10,1979. That date was not on the shirt or on the tourbook. I was very disappointed. That was the main reason that I bought the shirt. I didn't look at it until I got to the car. I don't know if anyone else has seen any mistakes like this or not. I want to send a quick shout out to Penny who flew down fron Jersey for the show. You are the best; thanks for the shirt. I had a blast! Thanks to Scott for having the testicular fortitude to get on the floor. I hope that this will be the first of many shows for us dude! I also want to thank the two women next to me on the floor. Thank you for the show. I have a lot of great pictures if you would like copies. I am the guy who got the guard to give you the pic from Skid Row. My e-mail address is jpdeuce73@hotmail.com. I welcome any and all mail; I have over 200 videos that I will t! rade. Until next time my friends!
