KISS Farewell Tour Reviews

From: Doug
Another great show.

I went with three friends, none of whom had ever seed Kiss or Ted. They left telling me that was the best concert ever. A new standard has been set, said one buddy.

We got into the Sacramento Valley Amphitheater about 7 o’clock, which was show time, but American Pearl (I think) was already finished. Ted was great as usual. Ted had the line of the night. “This is the real California, working people. You need a job the buy the tickets.” While I do not necessarily think musicians talking about politics it a great thing, Ted was being Ted. Does he go to far calling Reno or Boxer whore, ya, but it’s entertainment. Kiss goes to far, but that is what makes them the best. It amazes me that the same people who blast Ted for his conservative talk will be the first to campaign for prisoner’s rights. So Ted, a tax paying American, gets criticized for speaking his mind, but some think a piece of shit murder has the right to cable TV. Unbelievable. If you don’t like Ted, don’t buy the ticket or skip his show. Anyway, Kiss was great. At first the set seemed a little hurried. The sound was great; the full house (about 18,000) was rocking. I saw them in March in Reno, they looked better this time. The weather was great, about 75 when Kiss went on. The only negative about the outside venue is there was not as much pyro as Reno. They blew that place up. Still a great crowd and show. It was the “quietest\’ Kiss concert of the 12 I have seen. Only 12 hours later my ears are barley ringing.

Highlights: Paul singing I Still Love You before Black Diamond. About 3 tons of confetti during RARAN. The video during Do You Love Me is awesome.

I also like the new entrance since the start of the tour. They play DRC on the way down form the lights.
