KISS Farewell Tour Reviews

From: Steve Harwell
Let me start off by saying I have seen at least one show at every tour since Creatures and am usually a very tough critic when it comes to KISS' shows, but this was a very good one!

Skid Row was loud and the new singer sounded enough like the original for me so I enjoyed them. The crowd that was there seemed to get into the tunes they played contrary to what I have seen written about other shows. Now onto Ted, I'm sorry but he just Sucks! I've seen comments about the "madman" and I didn't realize there were that many rednecks on the West coast. I am a republican and his act just isn't fresh, GO AWAY TED!!! His vocals were weak and his music just sucks! I guess if you're into his stale act you will like it, but I couldn't get into his Janet Reno crap. They have to be able to get someone better to open.

KISS was in rare form. Paul's vocals were strong and the rest of the band sounded and looked good. I was very glad I read some reviews prior to the show because I was surprised that the set was different than what they played at previous shows. Duece was second and the rest of the set was mixed up a bit. Ace and Peter were into the 80's tunes if you ask me and they sounded good. Paul said the crowd was the loudest so far during Lick it up. I was glad they played Shock me and 2000 man instead of into the void. I really wish they had played I stole your love though. Also, no Forever or I was made for lovin you. Gene didn't go up top during God of thunder probably due to the problems Sat. Nite, not a surprise. Paul did swing out on love gun. Overall they sounded great, not like the debacle at Dodger Stadium on Psycho Circus Tour. They were every bit as good as the reunion tour. Hope this won't be my last time seing them, but if it is, it was a nice farewell! Thanks!
