KISS Farewell Tour Reviews

From: Dan Demora
After this concert, I'm never going to see KISS again. Not because I don't like them anymore, but because this was, without a doubt, the greatest show I have ever seen! I saw them two weeks ago at the Meadowlands and it just didn't sit well with me. The vibe in the place wasn't quite electric enough and sometimes, the band's performance seemed strained, the songs a bit slower.

But not tonight! Tonight i saw the greatest live rock band of all time put on the show of shows for 18,000 KISS-starved Northeastern Pennsylvanians. The songs were perfect (wel, not perefc-but that's really one of the most beautiful things about live music) and the tempo seemed speeded up a bit from the Meadowlands show.

Best of all, the band was in a great mood. Paul joked that Ace was going to sing a song about his Age before 2000 man. Gene and Ace were doing Kung-Fu moves on each other during Paul's raps (seeing Gene attempt to lift those dragon boots in a roundhouse kick was worth admission itself). Peter never stopped smiling and I think the sea of lighters during Beth genuinely impressed him. Ace mouthed "Help" as Gene licked his neck during Cold Gin. Paul referred to the giant tent that covers the reserved seats in the amphitheater as the "big top" and said we were all circus freaks that night. This was not a band going through the motions.

Maybe I was blown away by the fact that KISS was playing in my backyard and I was in the 2nd row, but I think it was more than that. KISS hs ben there for me for the last 27 years. I'm going to miss them terribly, but this concert was the best goodbye I could ever get.
