KISS Farewell Tour Reviews

From: Ante
KISS FUCKING ROCK! THEY ALWAYS HAVE & CERTAINLY DID NOT DISAPPOINT ON BOTH OCCASIONS.

All other reviews have included set lists, etc..

From the opening buzz, to the intro & curtain fall, KISS did not let me down, but I will say that the 1st nights crowd were terrible. Has this crowd ever been to a REAL ROCK CONCERT? Since when does thumping your feet on the wooden flooring substitute for the effective WE WANT KISS!, WE WANT KISS! chant? Place sounded like a bunch of lame horses!

My seating was to the left of the sound desk and it was great to see the show from here, i lost my voice yelling and trying to get the cheering and KISS CHANT going, it did work, but hey, the horse thumping was probably more appropriate on the first night, simply due to a majority of KISS fans? on the floor and obviously in the best and closest seats, you know the ones, the FASHION POLICE, no-ones wearing any KISS items, just fucking POSERS who are no doubt in the - ITS NOT WHAT YOU KNOW, BUT WHO YOU KNOW CLUB!!", come on, I am definately not saying the show sucked completely, but the crowd sucked miserably. This lack of crowd participation was felt on stage, they were all walking around, especially GENE, he seemed quite disgusted alot of times, and Paul "We had 3 shows in Melboure, and Melbourne were 3 times as loud as Sydney", even this didnt seem to get the crowd going.

The second night, seating was awesome! 9th-10th row in front of ace on the side along walkway, tonights crowd was definately better. Perhaps this was the case with proper ticket sales, no early public release and all "THE STELLAS", well majority were not present, the crowd was great, but my CHICAGO experience on 29/12/98 for Pyshco Circus proved how well the crowds can really be, not to forget Melbourne in 1995.

KISS WERE FULL OF ENERGY AND DID NOT TAKE IT EASY AS PER 1st night, the only disasppointment was that no medley was played, no She, Parasite, New York Groove, shit happens! Paul was fantastic, but his girl roar was pretty fucking funny, GENE IS GENE-GOD OF THUNDER, ACE fucking rips, Eric was cool as can be.

Ace was loving it, he was hanging out with Eric up on the stair case and throwing shit at Gene while Paul was revving up the crowd, this type of energy onstage & obvious enjoyment on there behalf was definately felt in the crowd, we didnt stop!

Paul's comment to the people sitting down was appropriate, "get off your Australian asses!"

All in all, fucking wicked concert, was not dissapointed at all, just cant help but let my frustations be heard regarding the first nights crowd. Not to forget Mr. Doc McGhee, he took a stroll during Black diamond or Cold Gin, I recognised him and tapped him on the shouler as he walked past & shook his hand, i guess it will be the closest i will ever get to meeting KISS in person-SUAVE MOTHERFUCKER!

THANKYOU KISS FOR IT ALL! PAUL, GENE, ACE, PETER, ERIC(rip),VINNIE,MARK, BRUCE AND MR.SINGER-THE WORLD WILL NEVER BE THE SAME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

LET THE FINAL SHOW BEGIN, GOLD COAST HERE WE COME!!
