KISS Farewell Tour Reviews

From: Brennen Arkins
Well, I took a chance and saw KISS again up here in the sticks last night. Initially, I was worried that it wouldn't be as good this time. But the Talismen must have been with us.

Everything went as rehearsed up until right after Beth. Paul does his "time for one more" speech and then he says, "but there's so many to choose from." Of course we all know what's coming next so it was funny, but then inexplicably they all start trading off riffs. Paul played a little bit of Makin' Love, then Ace did started doing Parasite, then the three of them did the whole beginning of She. It seemed like Peter was doing something offstage and they were just playing around. Then Peter joins them on She until that fizzles, and then Paul says, "here's the one that Peter wants," and starts playing Hard Luck Woman! Gene tries to follow along but his bass is too loud and distorted for that song. Then Paul starts doing the riff from Love Her All I Can! Of course, all the diehards are freaking out while the casual fans had no idea. Then Ace says,'Wait, I forgot we were in New York," and leads the crowd in the chorus of New York Groove. Then Paul finally says, " I've got one. How about Rock and Roll All....." and you know how the rest goes. I can't believe all of us that were just born in the Seventies got to see the Originals live. I honestly don't know why other bands even bother to tour. KISS "destroys" them all.
