KISS Farewell Tour Reviews

From: Frank Anzalone
Skid Row - After all the poor reviews I thought they kicked ass! With all due respect, Skid Row was what 80's metal was all about! I wish their set was longer. I wonder if the new singer was recruited because he resembled Sebastian Bach.

Ted Nugent - What can be said that hasn't been already. He rocked! His set should have been longer also. His show opening for them in 1987 was longer. By the way, what's up with Tommy Aldridge's afro. He was amazing as always(saw him with Ozzy and Whitesnake before).

Kiss - this was my 17th time seeing them including 5 non-makeup gigs and being my last time I soaked it up for everything it was worth!!! I thought I would cry an get teary eyed, but you know what, to me it was a celebration and I am just tickled pink to see them one last. And none of that see 12 reunion shows bullsh** that I am still in debt for!!! ONLY ONE FAREWELL SHOW!!!

Anyways, they were amazing, the best I've seen them. Same set list only no Ace song medley during his solo.

Here's a few tidbits:

Gene's flying: well, I had my fingers crossed and they did get him up without a hitch. Only one problem which by now is par for the course! When they got him up they overshot past his landing stage and he dangled OVER the crowd for a few seconds. He even had to grab his mike stand to pull himself back. I don't know how he does it!

Pyro: the new flames they use are kick ass!!! Especially during Heaven's on Fire. However, those little rocket projectile shells need to go. In the grand scheme of things they are pretty cheezy.

Comment of the night: by Paul to a topless female in the front row "Are those silver dollars, you must have been to the beach today."

Treat of the night: Paul singing the intro to I Still Love You during the intro of Black Diamond.

Best deal of the night(or is it?) Both Kisstory books for $300 or each for 158.95. Well $16 dollars saved is better than none saved!

Best deal of the night(for real): Psycho Circus tour book for $10 dollars and the new majorly asskicking tour book for $30.

Well, I was pissed when they canceled Ft. Lauderdale last year(or Sunrise, or whatever city the NCR is in). But they made it up last night!!!

Everyone else has been doing this and so will I!

Thanks Kiss !!! I have been listening to you since 1976(the tender age of 4) and I will never forget you!!! You guys have been the soundtrack to my life. Good luck and God bless!!
