KISS Farewell Tour Reviews

From: John H
Nothing really out of the ordinary tonite. Both Gene and Paul were successful in their flying attempts, my last show in Milwaukee last month Paul's rig didn't work (funny, the 1998 Milwaukee show had Gene grounded...) It's always been nice to see Toronto with a full house since the reunion started, and seeing them at a new venue was nice. I thought the sound at the Air Canada Centre was the best I've heard in Toronto for KISS.

It is cool to see how the 80's songs have been taking on a new personality since they were first played in Vancouver with Ace and Peter. Peter seems to be playing different fills on I Love It Loud (even though he's always played the reversed beat that Eric Carr played). Ace seems to be a lot more comfortable playing Lick It Up as well the the last two shows I've been to. It's a lot like Paul always improving as the Phantom as he got more shows under his belt.

The other thing I thought was cool to see was the horsing around between Paul and Gene, and Gene and Peter when they all came to the front of the stage before Rock And Roll All Nite. Paul pushed Gene from behind a couple times, and when Gene turned Paul made some boxing type gestures to him. Just after that, Gene was playing around trying to keep Peter from getting back to his drums using hockey moves by checking and holding.

If it's the last chance I see KISS, I'm satisfied. Paul said it was the last show in Toronto, but maybe there's a chance for a Hamilton date in September since they'll be back in the area. I'll keep my fingers crossed...
