KISS Farewell Tour Reviews

From: Frank Picciurro
I have seen KISS, in costume, 7 times over the past 25 years, beginning for me with the Destroyer tour stop at Madison Square Garden and for my wife with the Dressed to Kill tour stop at Roosevelt Stadium in Jesey City.

The show is exactly what I expected from KISS. The set list included Detroit Rock City, Deuce, Firehouse, Let me go Rock n Roll, Calling Dr Love, Shout it out Loud, 2000 Man, 100,00 years, Cold Gin, Shock Me, Do you Love Me, Psycho Circus, Lick it Up, Heavens on Fire, I Love it Loud, God of Thunder, Love Gun, Beth and Rock and Roll All Night. The band was in good playing form, energetic and loud.

The show was excellant except for the empty seats, a techical glitch with Ace's guitar transmitter and the inability of the sound sytem to clearly amplify the highest guitar notes.

The highlights included Paul's rapport with the crowd, and in particular his story of woking in New Jersey selling gas near the turnpike to earn money to buy a guitar, Gene's humor when doing the now popular "what's up" line and Ace's very sober playing. Though not a sellout, the crowd was an important part of the show, bare breasts and all.
