KISS Tour 2000 Reviews

From: Sean Smith
This was the sadest KISS show I've seen. Since the reunion, I've seen 11 shows and this was pityful. The sound was terrible, echoing off the walls and the speakers were barely pointed towards the middle floor; where I was (11th row).

The band wasn't tight at all. Paul had to constantly look to Peter to end the songs together. Peter looked really slow and wore out quickly. Gene didn't move around to much. Ace was much slower than usual, and never sang a complete line into the microphone. He also wasn't around for the intro to Love Gun. The monitors obviously weren't working because they were constantly yelling at there monitor guy. Nobody could tell what song they opened with until the chorus. The 80's songs looked ridiculous for the foursome to play (except for Love It Loud). I read that there would be HUGE pyrotechnics for this show, and there wasn't; just the usual flames, smoke, and occasional shots fired into the air. The worst part was that the band (and crowd) didn't have a clue to how many seconds were left for a countdown to midnigt, and all of a sudden in the middle of one of Paul's speeches it turned midnight. Confusedly he just said, "Hey people it's 2000".

After midnight, the whole show seemed rushed as if there was a type of curfew and they ultimately played less than the usual 2 hours.

Even after all that though; After spending all the money to fly to Canada, pay for hotel rooms and for the scalper-priced tickets........I guess I'm such a fantical fan that I can at least say, "I know where all the members of KISS were for the turn of the century...30 feet in front of me. (So it wasn't a complete loss).
