KISS Tour 2000 Reviews

From: George Payne
Well to start off I flew from Maryland to Vancouver BC with alot of anticipation of being apart of one of the most memorable events of a lifetime! Once I arrived in Vancouver my feelings were confirmed with KISS posters all over billboards on the streets and articles in the local town newspaper. The hype was there but the show was a BIG let down. It seems as if they threw something together at the last minute and it showed! No new cool tour programs for the special event - they were selling programs from the Psycho Circus tour! We spent alot of money for this concert and should have been able to come home with something special that few fans could have! Then there is the show itself. The addition of the three new songs "Lick it up", "Heavens on fire", and "I love it loud" were great, but the rest of the set list was the norm! These guys have such an aray of music to play, but are always playong the same tunes! They had there stage problems also - Genes microphone went out during one of the songs and Ace disappeared before the beginning of "Love Gun". Paul had to actually call Ace back out onto the stage! The stage setup was very simple and the pyro was lacking. I'm a die hard KISS fan but this was not one of there best shows! I hate to say it, but it seemed very low budget!! Maybe I was looking for to much, but why not. This was promoted to be the show of all shows, but just didn't live up to it. Lets hope there are much better offerings in the future from THE GREATEST BAND IN THE WORLD!!!
