KISS Tour 2000 Reviews

From: Andy Butler
Well,I'm from Toronto,so going across country for New Years just to see Kiss was definately an adventure in itself. As far as the concert went, and bare with me it was a drinking environment,it rocked. The sound was an improvement over most stadium shows, less echo, more clarity. Kiss opened with a documentry style history through the years using the large screens(very cool),after which the Psycho Circus curtain dropped and Kiss began with P.C. and probably the best live version I've heard. They didn't move around as much during the show, but seeing they were recording its understandable.Actually most of the songs were well done, except Into the Void which was sorta sloppy,I'm sure they'll record that one again in Alaska. Now I know the 80`s material has been a bone of contention with most fans,80's fans want it,die- hards don't,well I'm a die hard but I thought they actually sounded good, maybe the make up helped erase the poseur image,or seeing and hearing Ace and Peter performing them I don't know, but it worked and if three songs help satisfy those fans no problem. Visually,Kiss pulled out all the stops,Kiss Army banners, the blow ups(two on either side of the stage),three screens, the lit Kiss logo on either side, running ramps, and tons of PYRO.All very impressive. It was definately Ace's night, solos were perfect and we got 2000 Man at midnight!! Which sounded amazing.I mentioned Into the Void earlier as being sloppy, well personally I thought Gene and Paul screwed that one not Ace,oh well. Over all it was a great show and a great party! Thanks Kiss!! Alive IV , YES!!!
