KISS Farewell Tour Reviews

From: Jeff Edwards
Fantastic show !!! Skid row came on at around 6:30 and rocked the place. They played for about 30 minutes and then after a quick stage change the "Madman from Detroit" came out. Another excellent show !! (You sure got your monies worth at this concert). Ted shows the crowd that he has still got what it takes to put the people on their feet. I was a little shocked at the language he used with all the kids there and all. But, that's Ted for ya. After about 45 minutes of chanting....KISS....KISS....KISS, they pulled down the black curtain to reveal KISS' curtain. The place went crazy !!! 16,500 people on the edge getting ready for the "Kings of rock". The lights go down and the most famous words in rock and roll history: "You wanted the best, you got the best, the hottest band in the world......KISS". The music started and the fireworks started but, the curtain didn't want to come down. Three more stage hands had to run out and help yank that sucker down. And there they were in all their glory. They looked great tonight. I've heard alot of stories about them being tired and not having fun but, tonight they were on target !! Peter Criss was smiling the WHOLE concert and Paul and Ace were constantly "high-fiving" each other. They seemed to be having alot more fun now then they did back in the 70's. And the Demon ? Well, he was his old self as always. Ace didn't miss a beat on his solos. Contrary to what the newspaper said the next morning.

His solo was right on time and he seemed to be having a blast with the fans. He must have flicked out 100 picks during his solo but, in the 100,000th row you don't seem to be able to catch any. HA HA !! During each of the solos (and yes, Peter did have one during 100,000 years) the fans chanted the name of the member. That seemed to get them going just that much more. Pretty much the same show as everyone else has said. Peter came out on the encore and sang "Beth" and the show ended with "Rock and roll all night". All in all. It was well worth every penny I put out. I hate to see them go but, like they always say. "It's better to go out on top and with dignity". I just hope that this 36 year old man has the same energy as they do when I'm their age. Thanks for all you've done over the last 27 years. I grew up with you and will never forget !!!
