KISS Farewell Tour Reviews

From: Dave Adair
Well this was my 4th show for the Farewell Tour, & it was as good as the others...NO QUESTION!! I had 6th row in Louisville, 2nd row in Chicago on night 1, mezzanine seats for night 2, and 3rd row in Virginia Beach. Yeah it was pretty much the same show, but still finding myself saying.."just one more". A few cool things that I have never been able to experience in my previous 17 shows dating back to 1/16/78 was an outside venue and hearing the soundcheck before the show...I got to hear Psycho Circus & DRC..that was cool. Now for the show;

-Skid Row was Skid Row..no complaints since they only jam for 30 minutes, but they get into it, so hats off!

-Nugent was in rare form...he started off with Paralyzed this time, & he was as vulgar as I've seen him on this tour...always loved Sweaty Teddy!

-The boys were really on it, Ace was a walking zombie from the time he got on stage, I got two of his picks. I was on his side so I really watched him the most. When the show ended it took him about 3 minutes to actually get off the stage. When the house lights came back on he was still in the wings looking at something on his guitar...he is just so spacey I loved it!

Paul was just simply awesome! There were a small group of handicapped people to our right (I mean really limited people, but KISS fans to the hilt) he kept throwing pick after pick to be sure they all got some. After he failed to get it to one lady in a wheelchair, he tossed it to a security guy & motioned for him to get it to her which he did...pretty cool for a guy who has millions & doesn't need to be nice to anyone. My wife & I thought Paul & Ace did a great job of including them. Gene had a good time with a chick in the front row who wouldn't clap her hands...he mocked her as an old lady until she finally buckled...man being in the first few rows is the coolest, you see soooo much. As for Peter, far & away the best drumming night I've seen on the tour, he was all smiles. They tried a new camera angle while he sings Beth. His drum camera was poited at his back so you see him singing to the bare breasted babes in the front...nice! Another part that was enjoyable were! the 2 chicks kissing at the intro to Lick it Up..nice job to the camera guy to catch that action! Well I hope to get to Dayton which will probably be it for me & the boys I've been listening to since '76. Thanks for a ton of great memories & keeping us young for a little longer...you guys are simply put..."AWESOME"!
