KISS Farewell Tour Reviews

From: Mick
Well, what can i say? i've been a KISS addict for 24 of my 29 years on earth, and have seen them perform countless times. what could KISS do to give thanks to us die-hard KISS fans without leaving us saying "we've seen that before?" They came into winnipeg and put on a really tight set of the standard KISS Klassics, and having the previous day off to rest must have done wonders for them!!!!

All 4 were in top form!!!! i have seen KISS 5 times since reuniting the original 4, and have watched countless videos from the past 2 tours, and i must say, last night they had one of those shows where all 4 were on top of their game. ace really stood out. he looked fantastic and had the energy on stage that you would normally see mr.stanley exude on a nightly basis.

i understand that in every city on this tour KISS says their "thank yous" and tell each city they helped "put them on the rock'n'roll map",and that "we made them who they are". some skeptics might say it's just a stage gimmick, but last night even i couldnt help but to believe that the sincerity was real. all 4 were continuously making comments on their appreciation of us fans and clutched their hearts throughout the entire show as to say "you mean everything to us. thank you".

the stage was fantastic, a much more attractive stage than the reunion and psycho circus stages. the stage reminded me of what the love gun stage would look like in the year 2000. the sound was tight and clear. the usual gimmicks were applied as us KISS fans are accustomed to, with some slight variations to give it a slightly "fresh" feel to the show.

i had the fortune to be there for soundcheck to see them perform psycho circus and let me go rock'n'roll. peter did not attend, his roadie filled in. the hi-lite of soundcheck was paul going to the mic and saying, "i'd like to thank the Canadian border officers at customs......... FOR BEING SUCH FUCKING ASSHOLES!!!!!!!"

to sum up last nights performance....it was the last time i'm ever going to see my lifetime heroes perform, AND THEY BLEW THE ROOF OFF THE WINNIPEG ARENA!!!!! p.s. for all those a**holes who have slagged skid row and nugent on this tour......skid row was tighter and slicker than ever, and nugent...well, he's a maximum american shit kicking rock'n'roller!!!!! i couldnt ask for better opening bands!
