    KISS Kollector Fanzine

Joop van Pelt, the fanzine's editor, sent me a copy of KISS Kollector recently and I took a look at it. Let me first say that after taking a quick look at this fanzine...I can easily say it is one of the best fanzines out there. There is NO question about that. Looking further indepth into it...there was no doubt about it! The fanzine is loaded with news, interviews, features and pictures of KISS. I got issue #20 and which includes the following:

Joop certainly is a busy man! He write most of the articles in this issue and they are very fresh and interesting. You get 4 issues a year plus official merchandise on sale and more for only $22 U.S. dollars. The issues are just PACKED with info. The type font is small, but readable, to allow for the most possible information allowed in this fanzine. I really can't stress how awesome the photos are in this issue! This fanzine has the most KISS photos I have seen in one issue. They are all very crisp and in good quality. All the photos are in B&W but they still look terrific. You want to know more about this fanzine? Well, you are in luck! KISS Kollector has its "official" web site located right here at kissasylum.com. Check out KISS Kollector Online for the best that KISS Kollector has to offer. Their web site is just starting out, so bare with them. There is more to come. There is an "Info Page" on the KISS Kollector Online site that gives you more info on this fanzine.
In closing, I have seen a number of fazines out there and I have to say that KISS Kollector is by far one of the best fanzines going today. It is professional and you really get your money's worth; which to me is a sign of a good fanzine!

    OH YEAH! Fanzine

Just recently I received a complimentary issue of Oh Yeah! Fanzine. Since John Raptis of Oh Yeah! sent me this issue (issue #15 pictured to the right) I have decided to do a quick review of their fanzine. First off, It is of fabulous quality. This fanzine is more like a high quality magazine with its great magazine stock paper. It is of traditional magazine size and its content is of suitable length. This particular issue containts many differnet news bits and features.
One of the things that starts off theissue are the "Fast Facts" that give the reader quick news bits covering all the aspects of what KISS is up to. The magazine then segue's into a long thorough feature article written by Dave Scott that showcases two of KISS' reunion shows from Texas. Next is another excellant article written by Gerhard Wimmer about the KISS reunion show at MSG in New York City. And of course there are some great photos from Gerhard as we have all come to expect. Moving along we find another feature story, along with great photos, on KISS' headlining of the Castle Donnington's "Monsters of Rock" festival. Not only do they concentrate on the KISS of "today" but they also provided a piece on Bruce and Eric and their situation in another article. Finishing off the zine, Oh Yeah! includes a "merchandise section" and a "feedback section".
The subscription cost for this wonderful 'zine is $45 for out of the county (Australia) for quarterly issues. While this is a little high for the standard KISS 'zine...the quality of the paper and solid content do make up for the cost. With KISS about to hit Australia in February of 1997, you have just enough time to sign up to get this great magazine to receive all the benefits of Oh Yeah's! great coverage of this KISS reunion event.
